Dr. Hojjat Samiee, DC, CCCN
Hello everyone, I am Dr. Hojjat Samiee and I would like to share with you a bit about myself. I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, USA in 1972. I was born to Mr. Ahmad and Mrs. Vida Samiee; my parents who are of Iranian origin. I have three younger sisters, two nieces and one nephew. My loving and supporting wife and I are proud parents to a super energetic son. I lived most of my life in USA and I had the opportunity to live in many states; Arizona, Illinois, Virginia, Washington D.C., Texas, and California. I had the opportunity to also live in Kuwait, Iran, and now Oman.
You may review my CV which I will attach for your viewing.
I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic West, San Jose, California in 2000 for my Doctorate of Chiropractic degree, and from Parker University, Dallas, Texas in 2012 for my Certified Clinical Chiropractic Neurologist degree.
I was the second person in the history of Chiropractic to win the prestigious Dr. Virgil V. Strang, Art, Science, and Philosophy Award in 2000.
I am the first Certified Clinical Chiropractic Neurologist in Oman. Although we value all the foundations of the Chiropractic principles; what we do that is different is to search for how your body is being affected neurologically and symptomatically due to nervous system imbalance. I will explain briefly the difference between a normal chiropractic view, and how we view your body. Little background is necessary for you to understand what we do as a Chiropractor.
We have 24 vertebras or bones in the spine, which house the spinal cord. The spinal cord is attached to your brain, and in between each two vertebral levels, you have nerves that leave the spinal cord to the left and right side of the body. Over time due to physical, emotional, and chemical stressors in your body, the balance of your spine changes and causes mal-alignment at the vertebral segmental level, which lead to nerve pressure and compression, and sometimes spinal cord pressure. This phenomenon in Chiropractic is called a SUBLUXATION. Subluxation lead to many symptoms of pain, discomfort, muscle and soft tissue spasm and many dysfunctions in the bodily systems.
Now, as a normal Chiropractic visit, your Doctor of Chiropractic will look for these subluxations in your spine and joints, and corrects these via gentle and effective ADJUSTMENTS. (ADJUSTMENTS are the art of correcting these subluxations and returning the segment to its proper alignment). Most Chiropractors do this along with soft tissue therapeutic care to get you feeling better right away. So basically, only the spinal subluxations are treated, which is so very effective.
As a Chiropractic Neurologists, we take this to many steps further. It is best for me to explain what we do through a classic example of a patient. An example of a case may be:
A person who has complaints of neck and lower back pain, causing left sided hand, shoulder, leg, thigh, and pelvic pain. Along with this, she or he is also complaining of stomach acid reflux, heart palpitations, and difficulty going to the bathroom due to constipation.
Now, if you pay close attention to this person’s complaints, you may notice that all of the pain and issues this person is experiencing is on the left side of the body. Pain in the left hand and leg, heart and stomach issues which is on the left side of the body, and the portion of the large intestine which is responsible for going to the bathroom also sits on the left side of the body. So, is it a coincidence that all the issues experienced are on the left side of the body and nothing on the right?
The answer is of course NO. So now we have to look for a reason deeper than just a simple subluxation. Sometimes, an imbalance between the activity of the left and right brain, may be the cause for one side of the body to be over stressed and prone to ongoing disease processes. What we do is to find the cause of the brain imbalance, re-train and help better balance the brain activity so you may start to feel better throughout your body’s overall functions.
Of course, we do perform chiropractic adjustments, with the intention of also correcting the brain imbalance

Spinal Physiology
vertebras are your discs that act as shock absorbers for your spine.
The spinal cord which stems from the brain is housed within the 24 vertebras, and at each spinal level, nerves exit from the right and the left side stemming from the spinal cord which reach specific parts of the body for movement, sensation, and function. Sitting on top of your spine is your cranium which houses your brain, and at the bottom is the pelvis which the spine sits on. If you were to develop a disc condition affecting a specific vertebral level, then you may affect the spinal cord, and either both sides or one side of the nerve exiting. You may experience pain, numbness, tingling, muscle spasms, or even paralysis. We have a map of your spine and where each spinal nerve is located and how it signals your body below. Your body is truly a work of art, so take a moment to familiarize yourself.

Diet & chiropractic
Diet and supplementation may aid in inflammation and joint pain
- Some foods may cause allergic reactions, joint inflammation, stiffness and pain in your body like eggplant.
- Ginger and Devil’s Claw supplementation has shown to have analgesic effects.
- Chondroitin sulfate, and likes of this variation, have also shown effective.
Hydro-therapy
Hydro-therapy and effectiveness of this has been around since the early times; however, since the 18th century, this method of health care was given special attention and has been used as a method of prevention, rehabilitation, and palliative care. In the 19th century, Europe stamped its seal as the first hydro-therapy center in the history. And as of 20th century, the effectiveness of hot and cold water, and contrast therapy became evident in treatment of ailments.
We all live on a planet that is mostly covered by water, and before we set our eyes on the world, we lived in a water surrounded environment for 9 months. Water plays an important in all of our lives, as it helps sooth and relieve mental and physical tension, and if used properly, rehabilitate and strengthen the body.
We have chosen some water exercises that may help you get back to health more enjoyably and quicker. Enjoy and have fun.
Remember not to be in the water for more than 30 minutes at a time as it may increase joint and body inflammation.
